History Old Photos Our Thoughts |

BuildingsOfDetroit.COM > Places > Studebaker Plant > Our Thoughts
Sadly this building wasn't salvageable before the fire, as evident by the photos. Years of neglect left the roof in disrepair, which in turn ruined the supports in the structure. The only parts of the building that were remotely salvageable were the facade, smokestack, water tower, and the shed type structure. The building was packed with waste and debris that helped the fire spread, not to mention the building was wood-framed. It was only a matter of time before someone came through the fence and lit a match. |
